The second on the top seems to be working the most. (the water smoke one). It seems the most abstract and fluid one. Considering this is similar to PS, and has the word "Painter" in it, I'd like to see some usages of actual paint.
Instead of doing the animals and landscapes, maybe you can abstract them more because Corel usually uses those graphics and illustrations. But I like the water and smoke idea.
I like the tiger idea. Since its an animal that has specific color and layer on its body I think it perfectly suit the theme. Though its kind of old school but I think it's good to do something old since everyone is trying to do something contemporary and abstract.
hmm...sorry, but I don't agree with the water smoke idea. Its a good concept for sure, but it has been done, a lot. I think the close f the paint smudge is actually a better direction, but there needs to be some interesting texture or style in portraying it. Right now, Corel has a very vector looking design. I think going away from that will be a good change. But yeah, stay away from the animals. It'll make your design look like discovery channel or celestial tea.
While your representational backgrounds would allow for colorful illustrations, the prominence of the product type seems to get lost. A abstracted style showing off the power of Corel would create a stronger brand approach.
I like the 3rd one on top. I like the simplicity of your design and also the circles have added character to your design. Are your going to use images in the circles or just colors? If images, might reconsider the number of circles. It might get too busy.
I like the water smoke one... it's good concept. The third one on top will work better than the water smoke because it's right for paint theme. It's pretty simple. What abut those circles? painting spots?
The second idea with the water and smoke could be cool. That style is popular these days and I think your design would fit in nicely with the others. Just make sure you make it look nice and use good colors or else it may look too plain.
Your sketches are not very clear. So far they seem like the general software packing. Your designs still make Corel Painter inferior to Adobe. Try to design something that will want to make people pick your product over Photoshop or Illustrator just by the packaging design.

The second column has the more interesting layouts. I think you could do a lot with water/smoke and change it up for each product.
I like the cropping on the one below the smoke/water one. It looks more interesting and different than just drawing full shots of animals.

I think the ones that sort of showcase painting would be best since it shows what the product does. I think those were on the bottom row.

i think i like the top third one the best. although it's more abstract than the rest i think it gives you a lot of room to work with

The paint drips looks like it would work best. The idea is there but needs something to make it more engaging.
